Welcome to Whittier Place Assisted Living Center
Whittier Place Assisted Living Center is a comfortable, elegant facility where gracious living is an everyday experience. Whittier Place is an 80 bed facility situated on lovely grounds in scenic Columbia County, in a setting that has been described by residents as “pleasant and comfortable.” In addition to the Adult Home and Assisted Living Program, our sister facility, Whittier Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, is conveniently located on the same site.
The Adult Home setting provides the opportunity for the resident to remain as independent as possible while providing the necessary support services.
Whittier Place is housed in a spacious modern one story building with all the comforts of home. Many services are provided for residents to enjoy a carefree lifestyle while remaining as independent as possible. The facility offers two types of rooms: Private and Semi-Private. Each resident may decorate the room as desired including pictures, knick-knacks and other personal items that will help them to feel right at home.
The professional staff at Whittier Place are dedicated to providing high quality care. It is our goal to open the doorways to a functional and fulfilling lifestyle for each and every one of our residents. All rehabilitation programs are individually tailored to ensure success. We strive for healthy outcomes. That means using every possible form of effective therapy to accelerate and maximize every resident’s rehabilitation potential.
Rehabilitation programs range from intensive one-on-one therapy sessions to group sessions. This includes a variety of support groups which allow residents the opportunity to learn more about their condition, share experiences with others, discuss concerns and build lasting friendships.
In the event that you/your loved one requires additional assistance with activities of daily living, Whittier Place has an Assisted Living Program. The program is licensed by the State of New York and features a staff registered nurse and certified home health aides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to attend to any assistance needed. All services that are available to residents of the Adult Home are also available for Assisted Living residents.
In addition to a warm, comfortable sitting room in the reception area, an ice cream parlor provides a place where residents can meet, enjoy a light snack, and just sit back and relax. An outdoor garden and gazebo are available for residents to enjoy when the weather permits. Activity rooms allow residents to socialize and enjoy table games. Many residents form long lasting friendships here or enjoy the pleasure of rekindling friendships of those they had formed in our community. The Activities Department plans and provides a full calendar of events that every resident is invited to attend. For residents who choose not to attend group activities, craft projects and games are available for their use.
