Dear Chris,

“I want to thank you, Melanie and your entire staff for the exceptional care you provided my mother (Katherine) during her stay at Hannah Duston.

My mother who is 94 years old was very apprehensive about going to a rehab facility; however your staff managed to put her at ease and get her back on her feet in a relatively short period of time. She is still telling everyone she meets what a wonderful experience she had at Hannah Duston.

I especially want to commend the nursing and physical therapy staff assigned to her. The level of care and concern they afforded her while getting her back on her feet was extraordinary.

I had visited several other facilities prior to selecting yours but none compared with the cleanliness, level of accommodations and professionalism of Hannah Duston.

Your staff made what could have been a difficult situation very manageable for my mother and the family. Thank you again, and please extend my appreciation to everyone involved.

Yours truly,
Jack

Dear Mr. Olenio,

“As you know, my mother, Vivian S. Ryan, passed away last Sunday, October 29, 2007, while at Hannah Duston. This past week has been rather hectic and traumatic for my family and me. I would be remiss, however, if I didn't take an opportunity to reflect on my experiences while she was a patient there.

I was impressed with your facility over other nursing homes in the area and hoped that the care and attention given to the patients matched my expectations. Mom was first assigned to a room on the second floor and was quite comfortable there until her condition worsened and I was advised that she would be better served in the Pentucket Wing on the first floor. At first I was reluctant to approve the move but decided to give it a 30 day try out. I was told that she could still move back to the 2nd floor if I was unhappy with the move.

I must admit that the attention, service, and caring concern my mother received in the the Pentucket Wing was well above any expectations I had. The nurses, aides and staff were a joy to work with and treated my mother with the love and kindness that they would extend to their own mothers. I hesitate in singling out any staff member by name lest I omit any. They always kept me informed of mom's condition whether in person or by telephone. They should be commended for the exceptional job they do even during stressful times or in handling difficult patients.

When the end approached, Beacon Hospice stepped in and also treated me and my family with compassion as the realization of mom's demise approached. I was also impressed with their compassionate and caring concern and felt comfortable with their guidance during the last days mom was here. They helped us through this very difficult period.

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you and your staff for all that you have done for my mother and ask that you share this letter with them and Beacon Hospice."

With appreciation,
Jerome F. Ryan

Dear Sir,

“We were among the family members visiting patient Florence Haupin at your facility last week.

We wanted to express our appreciation for not only the excellent care she received but the friendly, courteous manner in which we were treated by everyone there. All employees were kind and helpful and all nurses were attentive and caring at all times.

The building is beautiful and it was a pleasure to walk into such a very clean and restful environment which included the lovely outside terrace with tables and umbrellas.

The service cart brought to the room with refreshments for the family was a delightful benefit of your caring manner for everyone.

Our aunt could not have been in better hands and we thank you so much for the wonderful job you are doing as the administrator of this impressive facility.”

Sincerely,
Bonnie S. Colburn

Dear Mr. Olenio,

“On Friday May 11, I attended a Mass of the Anointing at Sacred Hearts School auditorium at Bradford. It was followed by a Luncheon. It was a wonderful service for the elderly and infirm.

Your Activities Director, Jean Diamontopoulos, her assistant, Kelly Donohue, and CNA Kelly Norris, brought ten residents from Hannah Duston Health Care Center. Five were in wheelchairs, and five were using walkers. My life long friend, Gertrude (in a wheelchair) was among them. This was not an easy task and to make matters more difficult it was raining hard. The girls handled the whole affair with competence and compassion. They are a credit to your facility.

I would also like to commend you, Mr. Olenio, for your constant visible presence on the different units, and the high regard in which you, I believe, are held.

Keep up the good work.”

Sincerely,
Carolyn Goodwin.

Dear Chris,

“I am writing this letter to say thank you —to the entire staff at Hannah Duston—for the exceptional care, compassion and concern everyone gave to my dad, Arthur Bosse. While I wish I could name every employee by name, I know I might miss someone and so I hope you'll pass this note along to everyone who provided care to my dad in any way—nursing (nurses and aides), therapy (speech, restorative, PT and OT), social services and case management, food service, housekeeping and maintenance.

Words just cannot express the thanks and appreciation I and my family have for all the staff at Hannah Duston. Their jobs are not easy—I know that; but they performed their work, often under very difficult circumstances, in a most professional and exemplary way. You should be justifiably proud of the staff you have at Hanna Duston; they are wonderful.

May God Bless you and your entire staff—always—in the very important work that you all do.”

Respectfully,
Cheri Watson and Family

“I have been at Hannah Duston since 6-1-04 for rehabilitation for two broken legs. First I would like to thank you for the lovely room and all the care and concern you personally have shown me. As you know, since we have spoken together on 6-14-04, most of my stay has been a pleasant one. Being so totally dependent on someone for all of my needs can be very depressing. However I really need to commend and thank three of your CNA's for their total commitment to their positions. Terry Finley and Laurie Noyes are my two angels that have gotten me through a very bad time. Their smiles, concern, care and presence have made my stay here a much happier one. They truly go above and beyond what is called for. The third one is Melissa Pienta who works 3-11. Nothing is ever too much for her. She is always right there to help and always smiling. With people like Terry, Laurie and Melissa working for you, Hannah Duston can’t help but be a success and a home I would come back to if ever necessary. Thanks you all for getting me through the toughest days I ever had.”

Dear Beth,

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for the wonderful care afforded my mother, Catherine, during her six month stay at your facility.

Not only are the surroundings most pleasant, but your staff of nurses and aides are some of the best human beings I have ever met. I truly appreciate the professional care that my Mother received, because I know in my heart that I could never do that job.

I am most sincere in representing my family in saying "thank you to all the Hannah Duston family members.”

sincerely,
Kay

"I've been very happy with the care and professional staff. The faculty is clean. I would definitely recommend and have, to my friends and family. All the patients look so well cared for. I am impressed with the patience and caring."

"I love it here. It truly feels like my home. the staff take wonderful care of
me and everyone. I am so lucky to be here."

"My mother in law has Alzheimer's Disease. She was no longer safe at home and was admitted to Hannah Duston a little over a year ago. The decision to place a loved one in a nursing home is very difficult.

My mother in law did not wish to leave her home. In order to try and make as smooth a transition as possible, it was necessary to make my mother in law feel like Hannah was her home. In addition, her family needed to feel safe and well cared for at the Healthcare Center. This was not an easy task given the fact that I am an RN currently working in the healthcare field in Quality Management environment.

The staff at Hannah Duston accomplished this task by working with my mother in law and individualizing her care plan while maintaining her dignity and respect. The nursing department is compassionate and assures her safety. The activities, dietary, housekeeping and social services departments all play a significant role in making her feel at home. What Hannah has done form my mother in law and family will always be remembered and appreciated.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Hannah Duston. We appreciate your continued care, dedication, hard work and professionalism. I would recommend the nursing home to anyone in need of nursing home care."

"I am writing this letter with reference to my husbands most recent stay at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center.

I cannot begin to express my in depth gratitude for the exceptionally excellent care that he received while a patient there. He was in Level 1, I don't really know all the personnel by name but everyone without exception made his stay a very pleasant one.

I did not have to worry in the least about my husbands care as I saw with my own two eyes how attentive everyone was. He never even rang the bell and the employees were in the room several times during the time that I was there checking on him to make sure that he was ok. They really did put themselves out to make sure that he was comfortable in anyway possible. Your facility is immaculate also, I really must commend you for that. Everyone that I ever ran into was happy, always smiling, extremely friendly and helpful, and that is from the delightful lady in the lobby that does the dusting to the nursing personnel.
Thanks to Hannah Duston and there wonderful staff!"

"As the spouse of a resident at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, I would like to respond to the recent articles and comment on the superior care at this facility.

My husband has been a resident at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center since February of 1999. During that time, his care and the commitment from the staff have far surpassed my expectations. The nursing staff are dedicated and professional and I feel give the highest quality care possible. My husband does require the assistance of two people at all times. I appreciated their patience and gentleness with this issue. The quality of the staff extends beyond the nursing department. It includes the administration, activities, housekeeping, laundry and kitchen staff, all who have displayed the caring and kindness that helped me feel comfortable with my decision to place my husband in a nursing home. As his care giver for several years, this was a very difficult decision for me. I have found comfort knowing that Hannah Duston Healthcare Center is providing the best care possible and I would freely recommend this facility to anyone considering nursing home placement."

“I cannot thank you enough for your kind assistance in having my mother admitted to the Hannah Duston.

Placing my mother in a nursing home was quite traumatic for me, but after seeing the attractive surroundings and the attentive and most pleasant nurses, I feel she is in excellent hands.”
