Acute Inpatient Adult & Geropsychiatric Care

Our Mission is to provide patient-focused, interdisciplinary behavioral healthcare, by recognizing the inherent dignity of each person, while ensuring the highest level of care and professionalism in all relationships with patients, families and other caregivers.

The Whittier Pavilion is the newest addition to the continuum of care within the Whittier Health Network, a family owned and operated healthcare system that has provided outstanding hospital and community services since 1982.

By building on the long term care and rehabilitative expertise that exists within the Whittier Health Network, The Whittier Pavilion specializes in meeting the inpatient psychiatric needs of adults while also managing their current medical needs. The Whittier Pavilion offers spacious and modern accommodations, a full meal service, and personalized care that supports well being and comfort.

Our Admissions Department is available 24 hrs./7 days a week to review intakes and admission decisions are generally rendered within 20 minutes. Those in need of inpatient, acute psychiatric care may be accommodated on an Adult or Geropsychiatric unit based on their needs. Each unit provides programming appropriate to patients’ needs and includes groups for substance abuse, grief and loss, coping skills, stress management and exercise, among many others.

Comprehensive nursing assessments are completed along with evaluations by psychiatry, medicine and social work to formulate an individualized treatment plan. The Whittier Pavilion provides on-site hospitalists that provide care for ongoing and acute medical conditions.

In addition to the comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and treatment planning at The Whittier Pavilion, a wide range of therapeutic modalities and services are also incorporated into the care plan. The friendly staff at The Whittier Pavilion take pride in their ability to provide services in a clean and comfortable setting where attention to detail and patient satisfaction are of the utmost importance.
