Pharmacy Manager

Full Time

Responsibilities:
- Function as a pharmacist according to the licensing Board of Registration of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Supervise and coordinate day to day operations of pharmacy services.
- Train and orient pharmacists to policy and procedures of the pharmacy.
- Act as liaison to facilitate communication and smooth operations of all departments and customers of the pharmacy.
- Investigate and resolve day to day operational issues regarding drug delivery and policy and procedures.
- Receive, interpret, prepare and fill drug orders as directed by physician(s). Refill prescription orders per request of facilities.
- Assist in maintaining inventory control and annual physical inventory.
- Audits Pharmacy Technicians prescriptions input.
- Assist or obtain answers to inquiries from physicians, nursing personnel, student nurses and other healthcare disciplines concerning adverse drug reactions, dosage, IV incompatibility and other issues within areas of responsibility and knowledge.
- Supervises and directs Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician and Senior Pharmacy Technicians.
- Complies with all company rules, regulations and policies and procedures.
- Assists in identifying problems and helps develop solutions to achieve efficient, organized workflow.
- Represents the pharmacy department in any official capacity relating to professional activities.
- Monitors for drug interactions, appropriate use and dose of medications.
- Documents medication errors per pharmacy policy.
- Documents adverse drug reactions per pharmacy policy with appropriate follow-up to physician and Director of Pharmacy.
- Work is neat, organized and of high quality.

Prerequisites:
- B.S. in Pharmacy Required.
- Must have current pharmacist license in the state pharmacy is located in.
- Continuing Educational credits (15) fifteen units per year for the past (2) two years.
- (1) One year prior pharmacy experience, preferably in Long Term Care with I.V. room experience.
- Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
- Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language; possess good communication skills.
- General computer skills.
