Admissions Coordinator Full Time days, Monday-Friday

Looking for an Admissions Coordinator to join our busy Central Admissions office located within our Rehabilitation Hospital in Bradford, Mass.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Performs diversified duties in the admitting office, requiring independent decision making, inclusive of but not limited to: answering the phone, taking referrals, booking patients, managing faxes, assisting in maintaining contact with physicians, hospital staff, nursing personnel and other related departments.
• Accurately verifies and insures insurance coverage prior to a patient’s admission to the hospital or TCU and thoroughly documents coverage information on referral/insurance form.
• Ensures accurate data entry of patient demographics into computerized tracking system (LTRAX).
• Forwards completed insurance verification to patient accounts and case management.
• Ensures insurance codes authorization numbers are documented and authorization numbers are documented
• Responsible for leaving an end of day email summarizing referrals, admissions, discharges and census.
• Assists in the notification of patient acceptance and bed availability to referral sources.
• Assists in training of department staff as needed.
• Communicates, and assists with the prioritization of referrals to Medical Care Evaluators for completion.
• Assists in the accumulation and documentation of referral and admission data.

Prerequisites:
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Accurate typing ability, proficiency in data entry/word processing on PC.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as PC, copy machine, fax, etc.
• Demonstrates ability to operate, manage and prioritize projects and tasks.
• Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions.
• Possesses a regard for confidentiality.
• Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Minimum of one year experience in the health industry.
• Working knowledge of the health insurance industry and how it relates to the admissions process desired.
• Willingness to travel between facilities if needed.
