Dear Ms. Grasso: Our entire family would like to sincerely thank your facility and its staff for the marvelous job they all did in caring for Teddy L. Without exception each one of your staff gave sincere, loving, compassionate, empathetic, nurturing and patient care as we all worked through this climactic event. You should be very proud to have a team of such excellent professionals. Tun, Jeff, Beth, Ann, Anna, Brian, were just some of your team members that were interfacing with us so delicately. I believe Tun even stayed several evenings well past his shift to sit with Teddy - a sacrifice of love. When I told my friends about the excellent care you provided by repositioning, cleaning and changing Teddy so frequently, they were so impressed. It kept our loved one very calm and comfortable. The entire process was like a feather floating to the floor. Your professionals made the best out of an awful reality. Medical Records Coder / HIM Analyst - Part Time

Primary Responsibilities:
• The HIM coder classifies disease and procedures according to established guidelines and coding systems (ICD-10-cm) for the purpose of providing quality data for reimbursement and regulatory request.
• Manages detailed data and specifically coded information.
• Reads and analyzes patient records.
• Determines correct ICD10 codes.
• Selects the most specific code based on documentation found in the medical record.
• Assigns ICD-10-cm codes to records according to coding policies and procedures. 
• Interacts with medical staff and MDS coordinator.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and information security.

• Coding Certification.
• Professional, articulate and able to work independently.
• Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-cm codes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
