“Hello Karen: I want to thank Whittier Rehab for the great experience I had with Pulmonary Rehabilitation over the past 9 months. I started in 2024 while diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease. While I was in decline with the disease Therapists Eliza LaConte and Donna Badger led me through it with expertise and compassion, celebrating each milestone and effort.
When I received a double lung transplant at the end of September 2024, my life changed. I was able to return to rehab in October and Eliza and Donna took up my cause once again, challenging me to go at my own pace, yet always encouraging me to do more bit by bit. I will be forever grateful for this incredible staff of yours. Their support was personal and uplighting, provided with humor and empathy.
I am hopeful and encourage you to expand this important program to be able to see more patients with an increased amount of machines and add weights and band work for patients who would benefit from them. Having attended Pulmonary Rehab at MGH, I know these additional features will greatly benefit patients, and I know that is your goal.”
