The annual State survey of Whittier Transitional Care Unit in Bradford, MA has been completed and after two days of inspection the survey team deemed the facility deficiency free. All standards required by the State of Massachusetts were met and no deficient practices were found. The survey process is completed by the Department of Public Health on an annual basis. The federal and state government share the responsibility for ensuring that all facilities under nursing home regulations like nursing homes and transitional care units are in compliance with all aspects of care. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the U.S. Department of Human Services oversee the inspection program for nursing homes that participate in the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs.

The state surveyors commended the Transitional Care Unit on the high level of care, how beautiful the unit is and our personal favorite about how family-like the unit is.
